Our Short Courses are a great way to prepare for our Audio in Media programme and also very popular among home recordist and musicians alike and provide great hands-on training.

  • + Pro Tools Specialist Certification (ER-PTSPC) »
    • 2 Evenings per week (14 Classes)
    • 6:00PM to 9:00PM (42 Hours)
    • $1,150.00 CAD
    • Class Size: Maximum 5

    • Location: Erin Campus, 1588 Erin Street
    • A working knowledge of Windows or macOS operating systems
    • Basic audio recording knowledge is strongly recommended

    Becoming an Avid Certified User for Pro Tools verifies that you possess a fundamental understanding of and the capability to use Avid Pro Tools to engineer a project through to completion, with all of the fundamental operational skills to record, edit, mix and output the finished session. Providing you with an industry recognized credential for both academic users and industry professionals.

    To gain the title of Avid Certified Specialist for Pro Tools, you must take two foundational courses, Pro Tools Fundamentals I (PT101) and Pro Tools Fundamentals II (PT110), before sitting and passing the associated certification exam.

    This course delivers a comprehensive introduction to the studio production workflow. Topics covered include; Consoles, Signal Flow, Microphones, Recording Techniques and basic Mixing. On completion of this course, students will learn the tools and basic setup to successfully conduct a recording session.

    • 6:00 PM to 9:00PM (18 Hours)
    • $495.00 CAD (Save 5% when bundled with ER-SR)

    • Experience with a DAW helpful but not required.

    This course introduces students to contemporary editing & mixing techniques in music production using the industry standard Pro Tools software. Topics include; mixing concepts, internal 'in the box' signal routing, automation, signal processors, and signal processing techniques.
