On completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of; basic musical elements such as rhythm, harmony, form and structure; the Reason software system; and fundamental mixing and signal processing techniques. This course is ideal for novice users of Reason and educators who wish to incorporate technology within existing music courses (high school or post secondary).

- Class 1 - Musical elements and ideas. Introduction to Reason user interface. Introduction, Dr. Rex. Drums & Rhythms.
- Class 2 - Redrum, Introductory song project.
- Class 3 - Subtractor, Malstrom, Note sequencing.
- Class 4 - Thor Polysonic Synthesizer, Signal flow.
- Class 5 - Samplers, Control voltages.
- Class 6 - Combinator, Audio fundamentals.
- Class 7 - Regroove, Production techniques.
- Class 8 - Finalizing song projects.
- Class 9 - Final project Introduced.
- Class 10 - Final project continued.
- Class 11 - Complete final project and review.
